Cut-off frequency

Cut-off frequency is the point where a filter begins to reduce part of the signal.

Explanation

In a low-pass filter, frequencies above the cut-off are reduced. In a high-pass filter, frequencies below the cut-off are reduced. Moving the cut-off can shape tone or create movement in a sound.
