Checklist
Coursework checklist by level
A final checklist guide reminding learners to match their work to the actual demands of their qualification level rather than using one generic project approach.
Before finalising any coursework, check that your project actually matches the demands of your level. This is especially important in Music Technology because the qualification structure changes significantly from level to level.
At National 3, check that you have shown the required basic skills clearly and in suitable contexts. At National 4, check that the short creative production includes planning, basic recording and editing, mixing, final output, and simple evaluation.
At National 5, check that both tasks have been handled properly through planning, implementation, and evaluation. At Higher, check that the production length, minimum number of parts, and combination of recorded and electronic material are all secure.
At Advanced Higher, check which component you are working on. The research project and production project are different pieces of assessed work and need different kinds of preparation and reflection.
One of the most useful habits is asking not only whether the work sounds good, but whether it fits the assessment demands of the qualification you are actually taking.
Key tips
- Match the project to your actual level requirements.
- Check structure as well as sound quality.
- Do a final review before export or submission.
